Kuala Lumpur, where modernism coasts along poverty

This page is available in : Français English

Kuala lumpur is really a fascinating city: we find in it a ponctual developed modernism, mixed in an oriental city, rich of traditions, very living. People are warm and welcoming.

My Photographies :

A view of Kuala Lumpur from height 276m of Menara KL.

Photography taken not long before sunset from the telecommunications tower of Menara Kuala Lumpur at the height of 276 meters.

The gigantic size of Petronas twin towers

Heigher than the Empire State Building, they were the highest building of the world for a few months, just before being topped by the telecommunications tower of Shanghai.

They get at the first floors a very luxuous commercial center. Unfortunately, the visit of the top of the towers is forbidden, but it is now possible to visit the bridge between the 2 towers, located at the middle of them.

There again, we eat on the sidewalk, in the street.

Big mall in the heart of Petronas Twin towers

What a demonstration of modernisl and luxery this mall gives us: many shops like Cartier's, Mont Blanc's, Tiffany's...

Merdeka Square

Merdeka Square is the biggest square of Kuala Lumpur, that is used for example the place for the national day. On this place, stands the oldest Church of malaysia.

Merdeka Square by night

On Merdeka Square stands the oldest church of Malaysia. Buildings are enlighted powerfully.

Tien Hou Chinese temple (1)

Always in construction, growing larger as and when supporters give their money, this temple is magnificent by its warm colors.
